Primeval: Volume 1 (Series 1 and 2)

My daughter and I love this series, and it's great to have the two seasons in one DVD. We received it promptly and have been enjoying it ever since we got it.

When I found it on BBC America by accident I thought it was going to be a Jurassic Park rip-off. Was hooked. Not only were the special effects amazing, the acting was great as well. You will get hooked by the many plot lines. Want a pet Rex, too. Though it was only on for two seasons on BBC, there is plans for Season 3 in early 2009. This was definitely on of my best investments via Amazon this year. Enjoy

The series Primeval is a nice change from the programs on TV today. I love science fiction. I can't wait until the next season comes out.

I watched this when it aired on BBC-America the first time. It's not exactly the highest quality show out there, but its heart is in the right place and I had enough fun watching it that I decided to buy myself the DVDs.

There doesn't appear to be any kind of disc/episode guide included in the packaging. The DVDs are marked with the season and disc number, but nowhere do I see any indication of which episodes are on which discs, much less a summation of what each episode is about. (If it's there and I missed it, please let me know!)

Other than that, the quality of the discs is fine and they play without a problem in both my DVD player and my laptop. Other than the lack of an episode guide, the packaging is good -- better than some other DVD sets I've purchased. Fold-out cardboard sleeves that hold the discs securely but also let you see the disc numbers without having to remove them from the package.

I don't regret the purchase, but I am disappointed in the lack of an episode guide.

This is by far one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. The characters are engaging, the action is fascinating, the villains aren't 2D, the creatures are all well done, the twists are shocking... It's just... Amazing. I've been trying to get everyone I know introduced to the show.
