Made of Honor

because I thought women these days had gotten a firm grip on their sense of self-respect. Apparently some fell through the cracks, and they got a hold of 'Made of Honor'. Talk about every conceivable chick flick cliche heaped on from the get-go. To its credit Patrick Dempsey is a likable character and the Scottish countryside was pretty to look at. That's about it - the rest of the movie is shameless fodder for idiots.

Made of Honor is basically a redo of the "My Best Friend's Wedding" concept. A man and a woman are best friends, then one of them gets engaged, and the other one realizes they love the person getting married. Chaos ensues as the one tries to disrupt the wedding of the other.

The difference between these two movies is that while "Best Friend's Wedding" was funny, "Made of Honor" is just juvenile. There were actually parts where I felt sorry for Patrick Dempsey. But it's not totally unwatchable, so it might be worth a rental.

I saw the trailer for this film and it looked to be a light, banal but funny romantic comedy that would fit in well for a Sunday night movie. I had very low expectations but thought I'd be amused. Wow, I couldn't have been more mistaken.

This is one of the worst movies ever made. It's the kind of movie that makes you angry to watch it. You'll ask yourself how it was possible for a movie this insipid to actually be made. You would think that after watching the dailys the film makers would scream in unison, "Forgive us for what has transpired. We must stop now so the public won't innocently stumble upon this disaster as a rental and consequently want to poke their eyes out with an ice pick because of the horrible images it could leave in their minds."

I'm sure by now you may think that I'm overreacting. Well you're wrong. Everything about this movie is bad. Well, one thing was good. I could turn it off and I did. If, in the past, you never thought anyone has done you a favor you can rest assured that your time has come. This review is my favor to you so that you can avoid the mind sucking stupidity that is called "Made of Honor". Miss it at all cost.

I am really disappointed in this. I have updated my blue ray player and I still can't get this to play. If they are going to be making blue rays like this, then I'll be switching back to DVD. I've probably spent more time trying to get this thing to play, then it would have taken me to watch it.

I can't review this blu ray movie. Even with the latest firmware update, it will not play in my Samsung BD-P1200.
