Spaced: The Complete Series

NO REVIEW JUST BUY IT!!! All fans of Shawn of the Dead must own this.

I sadly didn't discover Spaced until after Hot Fuzz, and I am so glad that it finally made it as a US release :) Now I can have my friends watch it with me so they can understand how amazing this show really is.

I remember renting Shaun of the Dead when it came out on DVD -- and then I had to go buy it. Then I discovered Spaced on BBC America one sleepless night and I became hooked and a big Simon Pegg fan. Before this was released in the U.S. I was contemplating buying it from the Amazon UK site and getting a region-free DVD player. Fortunately, we now have our region 1 version and I can re-visit Tim and Daisy anytime. What I love most about this show is all the subtle homages to all my favorite movies/tv shows (Star Wars, X-Files, etc.). I'll be watching a scene and suddenly realize that they were doing a version of the final scene from Empire Strikes Back. It's a very clever show with endearing characters and it makes me laugh out loud.

If you are a big fan of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright (the guys behind Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead) or enjoy Brit humor... this is right up there with the likes of Faulty Towers and The Young Ones. I've already seen the complete series twice.

It took me a few episodes to get into this show. But it was an awesome show and it ended really well.
