Childhood Memories
This was one of my favorites! It brings back memories of when I was a child and my mom was still alive, baking my favorite yellow cake(boxed... with much love) and chocolate frosting (processed...by her two hands...and of course, much love) with a tall glass of milk (whole, of course...ah, the good ole days)! We could only afford this treat once or twice a year, so when Thanksgiving arrived, I knew that I was in for a special treat...Charlie Brown and yellow cake with chocolate frosting and milk.yummmmmm! I didn't care much for the meal, only the dessert. I miss those days and this show certainly brings back fond memories of mom and that era. 2008-10-15

"All I Got Was A Rock..."
This movie was one of TV specials I could not wait to see every year. It was like a religious moment. Halloween was my favorite time of year right after Xmas and then when I became a teenager, Xmas didn't mean much to me anymore and Halloween moved right up into number one. Loved it.
Charlie Brown's "All I got was a rock" is classic line and I always felt so bad for the little round headed guy especially when the girls called him over and used the back of his head as a draft to draw what the pumpkin should look like when carved. LoL That and Snoopy's WW1 Flying Ace behind enemy lines.
One of the other best lines is Sally Brown's when she tells Linus out in the Pumpkin Patch, "If you try to kiss me, I'll slug you!" A lil five year old girl telling that to a six year old boy is hysterical.
The part I never understood came from Linus being Lucy's younger brother yet Lucy and Charlie Brown were in the same class with Linus? How? Obviously it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of Peanuts universe but the notion that these characters are there and will be for generations to come, are great.
GET THIS MOVIE!

Good for the whole family
My husband and I remember watching this movie as children so of course we wanted to have it for our 8 month old son since it's his first Halloween. We love watching this as a family. They don't make cartoons like this anymore. 2008-10-10

Come on now, What would Halloween be without Charlie..........
Although hundreds of Halloween TV specials bombard us each October with cartoons and shows but this is my personal all-time favorite. Charles Shultz was a visionary artist. He transcends time and race barriers to create these wonderful characters anyone can identify with. This one has it all! Wonderful hand drawn animation with warm watercolor backgrounds that capture the essence of Autumn so vividly along with the terrific scoring by jazz musician Vince Guarldi.
For those of you that already know, I like for you to reminisce with me here but if you don't know you get poor Charlie Brown and his misfortune to always get a rock instead of candy on Halloween night! Linus and his misguided Great Pumpkin worship. Lucy and her mean streak! Sally and her unrequited love. Snoopy and his alter-ego the Red Baron! SO many good memories are made by watching these specials. It's not only the characters of Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy that keep you in hysterics, but Sally .. she steals the show. She's not only cute and lovable, but can whip out sarcasm with the best of em. I think she can even give Lucy a run for her money!
Now before I continue, is it me or is that moon mighty huge on the pumpkin patch field. I was always at awe every time that scene came up. If you have kids (or are kids at heart) this is a no-brainer. Start (or continue) your Holiday tradition right with "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" today!
Oh, Great Pumpkin--where are you?
Question for those who are enjoying the horror fest this month I need to know "Who is your favorite character and why?" You get a extra treat if your able to answer it. Happy Halloween!
