The Unit - The Complete Third Season

I absolutely love this show and own the Season 1,2,and 3 but Season 3 was very disappointing. The season starts out with a bang, but slowly slips downhill and no real season grand finale. And with only 11 episodes for $27.99, I think this is a total rip-off for the loyal fans of the Unit! WHAT - is Hollywood running out of money ???

I'm one of those people who is constantly yelling at my TV during movies and TV shows due to ridiculously unreal portrayals of military units, weapons, firefights, and tactics. The Unit is a welcome relief to my lungs and my wife's ears.

It's nice to sit down and watch a show about the military that is - for the most part - a realistic representation. No full auto spray and pray by the Unit members; rehearsed, well choreographed firefights; accurate weaponry and usage; and fairly believable stories. As for the Colonel endangering his career for a woman, well, if you don't think people do stupid things like that in real life, you just haven't lived long enough to see it. Also, on Jonas taking out 6 armed men with a knife: I've taken on 3 men - unarmed - and come out none the worse for wear, and I was just a lowly bar bouncer. If I can do that, I can truly believe that a fully trained Special Forces Operator can do what Jonas did.

The Unit: Season 3 only loses one star for the following reasons: The new theme song sucks, the old one was much more appropriate (even if it was from the Marines in an Army show); the season is very short (Writer's strike); and MAN that new theme song really sucks. Did I mention that already? Sorry.

If you're a fan of Military movies or shows, you can do no better than The Unit.

Ok, so here's the deal. This is probably the best show on TV and it barely made it back for this 4th season due to amongst other things, the writer's strike of last fall/winter and retarded decision making by station execs.

I'm surprised and happy they released season 3 on DVD. The set is great.

A few caveats:
1. I was hoping this would be the ENTIRE 3rd season to include shows not actually aired, but that were filmed...but it is not. It is just the shows that were aired. Thus the continuity between this and season 4 is borked.
2. Not in HD.

But enough of the review reading, you should be adding this to your shopping cart.

The Unit is a great Drama I was very pleased with all 3 seasons the only thing I did not like was in season 3 there was 11 Episodes and it costs 27.99 I think thats a little much but worth the money keep up the good work.

Would someone tell the producers of this series, that the slang "TOPP" is only addressed to the First Seargent of a particular company, not Jonas's character who has the rank of Seargent Major, which there is no equivalent slang for that rank.
