pretty woman jam
The best part about this concert was the fact that it was such a low key event. Only playing to a few hundred people in a small venue, really made it personal and realistic. The feel of the concert was so laid back it gave it a "fun" atmosphere. The trump card at the end of the concert was of course "Pretty Woman". The sunglasses on the orchestra were also a neat feature.

Very, very cool
September 30, 1987 was one day in history that should be remembered in every history book, taught at every school, and remembered across the country. Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen..... what an awesome lineup! People like Billy Idol even showed up to watch as audience members, what more can you ask for. Maybe the single greatest night in music history.

Simply Brilliant
BLACK AND WHITE NIGHT has been shown multiple times on PBS and I never get tired of it. Every time I hear the big O, it's like hearing him for the first time. His tone is pitch-perfect and has the ability to break your heart in a warm way. Of course, the world knows him most famously for "Pretty Woman," but he is so much more than that song! How wonderful it was that musicians like Bruce Springstein, Tom Waits, Jennifer Warren, k.d. lang and Bonnie Raitt joined him in this, his final televised concert before he died of a heart condition in 1988. The blu-ray is an excellent addition to the DVD family, especially in this case.

SACD Edition
The Amazon product description indicates that the DVD is Dolby only. Not true. The DVD is DTS and Dolby Digital. The SACD audio disc sounds wonderful and as other reviews indicate, this is a great concert.

Blu-Ray is Best
I am at work and wish I could get into great detail about every reason I love this dvd, but I do not have hours to dedicate to that :)

I owned this before it came out in Blu-ray and watched it often, however, it is like watching it from a totally different light. My absolute favorite song performed is Go.Go.Go. from Down the Line. Roy Orbison is such a musical hero and the crew he performs with is untouchable! The blu-ray is the way to go, for sure.
