Taped in 1987, this crystal clear Blu-ray disc features all the best Roy Orbison songs. It is definitely a must have for all Roy Orbison fans.

I first saw this concert on PBS and had to purchase it, but that was a few years ago.... Since then, I got a Blu-ray player and thought I'd give it an upgrade, which turned out to be a great decision. In crystal clear view, with this Blu-ray, you have access to a great concert featuring some awesome musicians. Besides the big names that are featured (Springsteen, Costello, etc.), you get the touring band of Elvis Pressley. I mean, how did they get all these great musicians to participate in this awesome night? It was so awesome that they did, and I am so glad I purchased this item.

I saw a review on here that said this performance was meant to be in color. Why then exactly, would it be called "BLACK AND WHITE" Night? Regardless of what others think, I happen to find this DVD to be exceptional. I absolutely love seeing the faces of everyone in the audience, because you can really see the joy in their eyes and smiles. Roy stays so calm and when he sings (especially the ghigh notes), it just looks so effortless. He was born to entertain and this DVD proves that to be true.

Black and White Night was a great concert to begin with, featuring a lot of big names.... but the quality is amazing! The only other copy of Black and White Night that I had was VHS, so imagine the drastic change to Blu-ray. I was so amazed..... Getting back to the actual concert, it was very well done. The cinematography was also well done, the camera angles, the production, and just the fact that it was in black and white were all brilliant ideas. I am so glad that they came out with this on Blu-ray, the quality is absolutely stunning!

I'm tellin ya! Roy Orbison is EVERYWHERE lately! Magazines, TV shows, the Internet, in the stores with all this new merchandise...it's wonderful. Here he has the new soul of rock and roll box set, the best of the soul of rock and roll cd, and now this new and digitally improved blu-ray disk of his historical performance with bruce springsteen, elvis costello, kd lang and more in the black and white night. I picked this up, and very much enjoyed it. What an intimate crowd he had at that show. Would have been nice to be there, but at least we've got the next best thing!
