Golden Concert
Arguable the best collection of pop/rock/rockabilly artists from their era, this concert features some golden moments. From Springsteen harmonizing with Roy Orbison to Elvis Costello in a harmonica duel, this one night only event is finally available in crystal clear format. What this concert really is is a work of art. The director, producers, and cameramen all had a key role in making this concert what it is. The Black and White Night really brings out the best, musically, of everyone involved. I definitely give this amazing concert a "5 out of 5".

Great song selection
The song selection for this concert was awesome. I am so glad they included Ooby Dooby, which was Roy Orbison's first great song. Ooby Dooby jump started Roy's career, and it was important to include that song nearly 30 years after. Looking at the track list right now, I really do love every single song included, from Only the Lonely to Oh, Pretty Woman. Uptown is definitely my favorite song....but the version they do on this CD is great, I like it better than the original.... "Uptown, in penthouse number three...."

I can't end without saying how sharp Blu-ray is. I have every version on this concert (VHS and DVD), but Blu-ray is really that much better!!

What a Wonderful Night
For those who actually had the privilage to see this historical show in person, I envy you. Sometimes I really wish that artists would not only join together like they did with Roy, but also that they would hold smaller, more intimate shows like this one. I can only imagine that the people in the audience that night felt like they were REALLY part of that show. I understand that artists now want to sell out shows and perform for millions of people, but why can't they hold small, private shows as well...? For the really passionate fans? I think Roy was on the right track with this one. Very impressed.

A Concert for the Ages
For a concert that was only performed in front of a couple hundred people (if that), Black and White Night was really one for the ages. Having the additional performers with Roy really bring out some songs that wouldn't normally have been as good. It was a perfect blend of Roy Orbison's beautiful voice, and the talents of all the other musicians and singers. This one of a kind performance was a big part of Roy Orbison's 80s comeback, and definitely propelled Mr. Orbison is a new level of greatness.

Roy got it right!
Roy's got it right on so many levels. Think about it. In this dvd, he's singing with some HIGH PROFILE people and they are all just backing him up! Then he's got that duet with kd lang, AND he was part of the Traveling Wilburys (classic) on top of being a rock star on his own. This dvd is a sure bet to make any music fan smile, and it's probably the best performance one can view by him (although they are all good).
