Kung Fu Panda (+BD Live) [Blu-ray]

Picture is just as good as Ratatouille or even better. Watching on Sony ps3 coupled with onkyo 606 receiver and samsung 40Ln550. Kung Fu Panda produces gorgeous colors compared to other titles. And I have 36 to titles. Tends to give me peaceful sleep when watching late night. Definitely recommend

When this BD went into my Panasonic BD-55, the image that displayed on the 720P Plasma was so stunning I didn't pay very much attention to the plot or anything else but the image detail. I watched it a second time to make certain that I knew what was going on with just as much awe.

Try a slow frame advance on the fight sequences.

Dreamworks definitely proved with this movie it was competition for Pixar.

Buyer beware - this movie may not work in all Blu-Ray players without a firmware update. . .if there is one availabe for your player.

I purchased this moive, and I had a problem playing it on my Samsung BD-P1400 blu ray player. I talked to samsung tech support and they said that this is a widespread problem with this movie and their player, and that they are working to release a new firmware version.

I have also read online complaints about problems with other blu-ray players that are also not working.

I guess it has to do with a loose blu-ray industry standard formatting and variations in the way movies are produced.

I have tried two copies of the blu-ray version, and updated the firmware on my player and it still does not play. I have to wait for a compatiable firmware update for my player before I can watch this movie.

Amazon's return policy is simple, which is good because we ordered a Kung Fu Panda Blu Ray and all the "extras" worked, but not the movie (we tried several other Blu Ray dvds and there were no problems); Amazon accepted our return and sent a new copy....same problem - when we selected "play" the entire player shutdown. So returned the second dvd and decided did not want to deal with this issue anymore and may purchase locally after I hear if others worked.

This is the funniest movie I've seen in the last year, at least. (Somehow I just can't get the scene with the turtle and the candles out of my head... you'll know the one.) This film achieves epic levels of animation with facial expressions and movements that are funny in their own right, plus A+ level voice acting from top notch actors.

I've cut down on my movie purchases a lot lately, realizing that a "DVD collection" is probably a really poor investment in every sense, but this one is a keeper.

I also enjoyed the extras on the DVD, particularly the interview with all of the voice actors represented.

That said, I would not have paid the original price for this DVD. It's just one movie. The extras are good but short. My DVD player does not seem happy with the games (they run choppy to the extent that they're unplayable) but then, does anyone really want to play games on their DVD player anyway? It was the price reduction that brought this film back down to the land of the sane. Great movie + fair price = sold.
