Could Louise Hay be my grandmother please?!!!!!!!!
If you liked THE SECRET, you will love this movie. I think it is way better than The Secret b/c it doesn't have that materialistic undertone that some have criticized The Secret for. It's such a beautiful movie and it truly makes you feel like you can accomplish and overcome anything! Louise Hay is wonderful. It's all about lovng yourself first. Then everything else falls into place. Very professionally done. Excellent! Can't say enough about it. I want to buy one for everyone I know. I love her book by the same title too. I use Amazon quite a lot but this is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write. That says something. 2008-09-05

Healing it did
Letting go is difficult for most of us. And if it is not true for you than this is not a DVD you would want to watch. I found many treasures in this one, and a thumbs up for watching it more than once.
And just like a jigsaw puzzle, this is one of the important pieces to bring clarity to the whole picture.

You Can Heal Your Life....the Movie
Iam a fan of Louise Hays and was delighted to learn that a film was made of her book. I purchased the extended version and am glad I did. 2008-08-31

Get it With the Book of same Name
I purchased the DVD expanded version and eagerly devoured it in the same night. I am not new to the use of affirmations, but never seem to stick with using them long enough to see real lasting change. It was helpful to hear that some people didn't get results until they had been using the affirmations for 3 to 6 months. It apparently takes that long to re-wire the neural pathways, as they put it. You are actually making physical, electrical, biochemical changes in the structure of the brain, so give it time, don't give up, and it will happen for you. One thing I did do is go out and buy the book to go with the DVD because she spoke of a list of ailments and that she had researched them and found out pretty much what emotional issue causes each physical ailment. While this is mentioned in the DVD, the list would have been too exhaustive to include in the movie, and you really need that list to look up your ailments and get a really big picture of what's holding you back. So after researching your ailments, watch the movie for inspiration. You'll get it. Oh, and it also has the interactive affirmation tool on the first DVD. One of the other reviewers stated that tool did not work, that no matter what area they clicked on it brought up the same affirmation. That is a mistake, I thought the same thing at first but I was not clicking on the right thing. There is a list of areas such as self, relationships, prosperity, work, etc. and there is a little marker that moves down from one to the other. You have to click on the MARKER, not on the word you are choosing. If you click on the word, nothing happens, but as the marker moves down, click on it, and it will bring up a different set of affirmations. 2008-08-31

Its okay but a copy cat version of "The Secret", etc.
I did not gain any value from Louise Hay which was unfortunate because I purchased the DVD just to hear her talk per the many good reviews online. Though she said nothing that stood out from what has already been highlighted adequately in "The Secret" DVD, "What the bleep do we know" DVD, and "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life - by Dr. Wayne Dyer" book. Therefore the talk by Louise Hay and the overall theme of the show appears very much a copy cat version.
Since this is an extended version there was a segment showing interview with Dr. Wayne Dyer - loved it, as always! I am very familiar with his teachings which essentially revolves around that the power to change our lives lies in our willingness to change our thoughts. You become what you think about.
The one value that I did walk away with after watching the DVDs, and hence the reason why I gave it 3-stars, was - a couple of the speakers (not Louise Hay) really hit home the fact that prayer is about emotions and feelings.. that what is transmitted to God is the feeling and emotions behind prayer.. not necessarily the words. We can verbalize prayers or mantras, however.. without the requisite emotions or feelings (intensity) backing up those words/mantras - the prayer lacks the essential energy needed to compell God. He watches of course.. but to melt His heart and to leave Him no choice but to relent and yeild to you, warmth (intensity) in prayer is important.
My dad watched parts of the above show too.. So I asked him what he thought about it.. He basicly told me that a lot of theory had been presented but very little experience was shown to support those theories. I laughed because I did not expect that assessment.. but what he said made a lot of sense.. I wish that Louise Hay and team would have enriched the documentary with plenty of segments highlighting actual experiences of people having applied the fundamental theories.
