The Tudors - The Complete First Season

This series begins well, but the quality is not sustained. After three or four episodes it becomes silly, the plot meanders, and attention is sustained only be frequent sex and nudity -- which start out well but soon become crass and pointless, as happened in ROME. The casting is good in some cases, very bad in others. So after buying the whole set we gave up watching half way.

I never watched The Tudors prior to purchasing the first season on DVD, but I was very pleased with my purchase.
The show is fun and exciting, but you must be a fan of drinking, sex, and bad language in order to enjoy it as much as I do.

This is the best series I have seen in my life. I am crazy about this show.

I have now viewed all of the first series, well, there is now doubt the emphasis is on sexual content, rather than historic content.
It may be that the historical content is so well known, that they had to do something to make it interesting!
Why, did they have to make a show of the king masturbating into a towel held by one of his man servants!!!
That aside, the costumes were stunning and the casting was excellent.
If you want to watch a softporn series, great, go for it.
I await the second series with anticipation . . .
Just to see if the producers can come up with something interesting in the story line, if they dare!

The Tudors - Season 2Does anyone know if the producers of this series plan to go all the way through to Catherine Parr (wife #6)? I can't imagine the guy playing Henry VIII allowing his character to grow old and fat, even though that is what really happened.
