Deadwood - The Complete Second Season

This is better than shakespeare, this is better than steinbeck, this is better than anything on t.v. and the fact that it got cancelled makes me want to put a bullet in the ceo of hbo's head. This is drama at its core, character development beyond your wildest dreams, this is Deadwood and there is no show like it. Check out seasons 1, 2, and 3.

I needed to return this item to Amazon. There was a manufacturing defect with the dvd package. The dvd was marked "Second Season" however when I went to watch it, it was the "First Season". I checked each dvd in the package, and they were all the same.

John Wayne himself would have wanted to be in this series. A gritty and jaw-dropping sequel to the first season that manifests a fever for gold and a thirst for whiskey. Its a shame ONLY 5 seasons will be produced as each one continues to epitomize what WAS the Wild West.

Amazing writing and even more amazing acting. I can watch this over and over for the sheer perfection of a vision achieved.

Even though the story line is excellent I will most likely not purchase any further seasons due to the extreme profanity in the story line.
I come from a background where I understand the use of profanity in the daily life and work of people but this goes to such an extreme that is becomes repulsive......I find it hard to believe that people were that raw in the old west. I still rated the DVD 5 stars out of honesty for the story line.
