Roughnecks Rocks
I really enjoyed this series. I like the humor and action. I couldn't stop watching it. I also like the stuff that you find out about the bugs and why Rico was assigned to instuctor Zim. I just really enjoyed this series, is one of the better animations shows i've seen. 2007-05-13

Must Watch!
I spent my Easter weekend watching this and I finished the whole thing too! It's an awesome series with all the action and hype the movie had. Well perhaps a bit toned down since it's animated. The animation itself took a bit of getting used to. But it was great anyways. I even had to laugh outloud at some parts. If you're a fan of Starship Troopers, this is a total must watch.

I thought the ending sucked though. "The final battle that decides the faith of mankind" and then nothing... The series is over... -_-;; What? They couldn't finish off that last few episodes or so?? Blah. So I still don't know the ending to the whole thing. But oh well, it's still worth the money I guess.

Wish I had my $$$ still.
This was a cartoon, not a "movie" as I had expected. Was very disapointed when I discovered this. Not only that, but the script seemed horrid to me. The animations seemed stiff and forced, not fluid.
Only watched the first one of the set.
My own fault (not realising it was a cartoon)for not paying attention to the details when I was reading the available info.

Head and Shoulders Above the Rest
After watching the movie version of Starship Troopers, which I found to be only so-so, I had very low hopes for this series. I couldn't have been more wrong. The series uses a serialized story-telling style, much like shows like 24 or Lost, to chronicle the war between humans and an insectoid alien enemy through the eyes of "Razak's Roughnecks," one of humanity's finest squads of soldiers. With long plot-arcs and a far reaching storyline, this is definitely one of the most ambitious "cartoons" ever made.
Don't let the rating fool you, this series is better appreciated by adults than most children. Though there is no foul language and very little human gore (though there is plenty of the bug variety), the series definitely has more adult overtones and themes that I have found to be very appreciable now that I am older and again watching the series.
The CGI stands the test of time surprisingly well. It isn't distracting in the least, and saying that about a series that debuted 8 years ago says something about just how advanced the CGI they were using at the time was.
The voice acting is also quite good, far surpassing what most popular anime or other shows would have today. The voice actors are mostly recognizable from other series, and it seems as though they put a lot of emotion into their roles.
It has been said by the technical director of the series that it was a "labor of love for all involved." This series really shows it, with good CGI, voice-acting, and an EXCELLENT plot.
My only regret is that the final three episodes remain unfinished, the voice-acting and plot already finished, but the animation undone, remaining in limbo with Sony.
However, there has been a petition started to finish the last three episodes. If you watch this series, I guarantee that you too will want to see them completed!
