Same Band, lots of Maturity, Great Live DVD
"Alive at Red Rocks", the latest DVD from Incubus, says a lot about the bands growth. Past DVDs of theirs have often included silly backstage extravangandas, which is not a bad thing, but interestingly enough this DVD shows them very mature when backstage living the dream. They now have a new bassist, and many of the songs they play live are from the most recent albums, but they definitely still can play live. This DVD features a great concert, including rare versions of 'Drive' (played on piano by guitarist Mike Eizinger), and also a lot of backstage footage of the band and their personalities. I highly recommend it.

alive at the redrocks
This cd/dvd is most likely the greatest concert ever put onto film. It features many of incubus' hits ranging from megalomanic to the warmth( which i think is the coolest on the dvd) to idiot box to are you in( very cool) and pantomime. So even if you are not an incubus fan everyone should own a copy of this amazing dvd.

ALive at Red Rocks is definitely "alive"
After I wrote this review, I read other's reviews and thought some were much better than mine, much more expressive. specially Mr. censored's review, you sould read it.It's posted December 2004.
The important thing is that you read 3 or 4 reviews and see that nobody is kidding you. This concert is fantastic.
Ok now my unedited review:

This is the greatest incubus DVD I've seen, and the greatest Incubus thing that I have ever experienced.
I've known Incubus for some time now and I can tell you its a great concert, you can really tell how professional the band members are.
Throughout the concert you will see extended versions of songs, solos by Mike Einziger and José Pasillas.
You will experience Incubus as it is, full of energy and power.

you can tell these guys are good 'cause the live versions are identical to the recorded versions, but they have that special "live" feel. Or should I say "alive"?

This is a must for anyone who admires or likes Incubus.

In-credible, make yourself by this....
...the fact that out of 19 reviews 17 are 5star says alot about this DVD. Im not going to go off on one about this as i dont have time to (i know i'd get carried away as theres so much to comment on this) but basically i thought the Morning View Sessions were a good demonstration of Incubus live, Volume 2 is great, especially the live Cali-accoustic tracks (awesome) but this concert is unbelievable, so so good! Highlights for me are for a start seeing alot of the Crow Left of the Murder tracks live as the album is brilliant & has grown on me so much over time, but also just seeing how well Incubus can improvise & adapt their songs to sound even better live. Theres a great version of "Drive" here, but the lengthened versions of "Sick, Sad Lille world" & "A certain shade of Green" are amazing. The guitar work on "S,S L W", "Priceless" & "Pistola" is brilliant. Other greatly performed trackes include "Wish you were here" (such an anthem nowadays), "Here in my room", "Made for TV movie" (a new favourite of mine) & "Talk shows on mute". also very cool to see "Pantomine" live, its also on the bonus CD, along with a couple live tracks & a couple of non-album tracks.

im hoping to get to the Leeds festival this summer (if i can blag a ticket somehow) so very much looking forward to seeing them even if it is only for an hour! Theyre the best band in the world in my opinion.

Basically buy this if you love incubus, its the best DVD you can get of them....

Absolutely "Stellar"
I've actually been hoping for a live CD release, but I was more than happy with this DVD. All the favorites are here (only a minor gripe with the omission of Echo and 11am, and the inclusion of Priceless, but that's just personal preference). This is all the evidence needed to show that this band has reached maturity. Drive is an unexpected change, but being the most played-out song in their lineup, the obscurity is welcome. The musical talent all around seems much improved from the previous DVDs, and each member gets to show off all their new tricks. Unlike some other bands, Incubus seems to perfectly display each musician's talents so well with each song, and this -for me- showed how it can all be put together so seamlessly. Every song is a highlight on this one - my favorites are Made for TV Movie and Sick Sad Little World.
Other notes: It's the perfect place to film for a DVD; We get to see Brandon play guitar and how well Ben works as a backup singer; and I think Jose could make any rock band sound good. Recommended for any fan of Incubus, especially of their newer material.
