You're forgeting about US!
We 10-12 year old boys don't understand the mysterious likings of jewerly, fashion, and how we are SO cute to girls. My mother even likes this film. Don't buy this 'cause it's too peppy and sexist to the male gender. Also, this should'nt be considerd as a "Family" film. Why? Boys are part of the family, this "Family" movie isn't for the whole family. Go buy a non-sexist, worth-viewing, real movie insted. What grosses me the most is that this film was directed by a BOY. 2007-01-05

A Pretty Good Watch.....
This is a pretty good watch considering that it is a sequel. The plot was a little cheesy, but hey, we all need a little silliness in our lives otherwise things would be boring!! I absolutely loved the part when Raven Symone and Julie Andrews sang that song together at the sleepover. The only disturbing part about that scene is when that little girl gets up on stage and starts dancing. She was overdoing it so much, that I thought she would snap in half, but whatever!! Otherwise this is an entertaining watch and is appropiate for younger kids(although I'm not sure too many little boys would like it). I definitely would reccomend this movie.
It gets 4 stars because it is not quite as good as PD1!!

A Patch of Blue
I really enjoyed the first movie, and was so hoping that the sequel would be half as good, but alas it is not! Far from it. However, ROYAL ENGAGEMENT has a few things going for it that save it from utter lacklusterness. Especially, Julie Andrews singing again after the tragic node operation that cut short one of Broadway's most famous sopranos. I don't understand exactly, for didn't she win $30 million dollars from the surgeons who butchered her during a routine operation? Now that she can sing again, does she have to give the money back? I wouldn't dare open my mouth if it meant I'd have to pay back thirty dollars, much less 30 million. Anyway, she yaks her way through a charming little song called "Your Crowning Glory," staged as an entertainment for Mia's bridal shower/slash/slumber party, and she hits all the notes: I don't know, was that sequence sweetened up in the studio? Other reviewers hated the part where young black superstar "Raven" pops up to turn "Crowning Glory" into a duet, adding some semi-urban stylings. I thought it was great! Raven could do all the big notes, while Dame Julie could putter along in the background.
But what happened to Julie Andrews' face? She was once a lovely woman, and she looked fantastic in PRINCESS DIARIES part I, but plastic surgeons did her over, I fear, one too many times, for she can hardly either open her eyes up all the way, nor close them completely, so she always looks tipsy and sleepy, even when she's supposed to be wide awake and furious. She wears a series of jumpers and tweed skirts in this movie, always fetching, but come on, give her a little glamor! And having Hector Elizondo as your boyfriend doesn't give a mature woman glamor! How about Robert Redford or someone who at least ONCE was a heart-throb. We all know that Hector plays in every one of Garry Marshall's movies, but enough is enough, he's nothing.
Where is Genovia supposed to be, anyhow? It looks sort of like Switzerland, or the Central European country to which Ethel Merman served as US ambassador in CALL ME MADAM. And yet all the principal characters have names from Olde England, like Lord Devereaux.
Anne Hathaway is no Hayley Mills, but she's cute when she's klutzy, and the only thing worth reporting on the romance front is that Chris Pine makes the young man from the first movie seem like Tyrone Power, and the film-makers utterly wasted their opportunity. They had the divine Callum Blue (who starred in Showtime's DEAD LIKE ME, often naked) in the cast, as the fiancee, Andrew Jacoby, and they never let him do a thing, much less get the girl. Is Callum Blue doomed always to play the Pagliacci figure? There should be ten films a year, as in the old studio system, exploiting his radiant, potent masculinity! Not this misbegotten mess of nostalgia for Genovian pride! Callum Blue, you're too good for THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2. which could have and should have been your crowning glory.

A Royal Treat for All Ages
I realize that others may think this is just a fluffy little Disney sequel, but I thought The Princess Diaries 2 was a beautiful film and a sequel worthy of the acclaim of the first movie. Anne Hathaway returned to the big screen as the witty, beautiful, albeit klutzy Mia Thermopolis. Her performance never faltered, and I was very glad she was able to return to the role. Julie Andrews is an everlasting beauty, a royal gem of the film industry, and I was pleased to hear her lovely singing voice that surprised so many in this film. Callum Blue and Chris Pine were both breaths of fresh air, and their roles in this film, I'm sure, sent many girls' hearts aflutter. Their futures in movie-making are sure to be bright after their tender, heartwarming roles as competing suitors for Princess Mia's affections. The wardrobe and sets in this film were eye-catching and lavish, drawing the viewers in to the cozy little village feel of Genovia. I applaud Disney on their successful efforts in another wonderful film, and hope many people see this film and appreciate it as I do. To me, it was a great sequel to a great movie, and all of the cast and crew should be very proud.
Anne Hathaway is a beautiful, talented actress, who thankfully hasn't fallen prey to the emaciated lifestyle of so many other actresses. She looks and behaves like a real young woman today.

Julie Andrews makes yet another hit.
THIS MOVIE IS A WONDERFUL MOVIE FOR THE FAMILY. PERSONALLY I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS GREAT! iT'S ABOUT A YOUNG LADY GOING ON 21 YEARS OLD. sHE SUDDENLY FINDS OUT SHE HAS TO GET MARRIED TO BECAOME QUEEN. SHE QUICKLY HAD TO GET A HUSBAND WHO SHE LOVES! JULIE ANDREWS AND ANN HATHAWAY DID WNDERFUL IN THIS MOVIE. BUT I LOVED JULIE AND HOW SHE SAID "SHUT UP" IN THE MOVIE. THIS MOVIE IS HILARIOUS. PLEASE WATCH IT AND SEE MORE MOVIES WITH JULIE ANDREWS! 2006-06-24
