When will they release more?!!!
As others fans have noted, the first seasons of Happy Days are by far the best. The show and some of the characters become too "cartoony" in later years, but the early years were wonderful...well-written and well-produced. The show really lost something when they changed the filming style, writing style, and went to studio audience. But I knew I had at least one more year of good stuff...where is it?! I have been anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series (there seems to be an abundance of other less noteworthy television shows!)...where do I sign up to petition for more episodes?! 2006-04-07

More extras and it'd get 5 stars
If you only saw the "studio version" of Happy Days, you've never really seen Happy Days. The earliest Happy Days episodes, without the live audience, were shot like a movie. To me, they are the only Happy Days episodes worth owning. But boy are they worth owning!!! The dialoge is witty. The sets are realistic. And the characters are likeable and lifelike. When Happy Days went before a live audience, the quality suffered, but America still seemed to like it. I watched too, but I was in my teens. Looking back, those episodes after the show went before a live audience were merely passable.
The reason this does not get 5 stars is because there are no extras whatsoever. Not one.

Classic stuff
The 1st season DVD package is good stuff for the Happy Days purest who enjoyed the characters in their believeable & original form. The DVDs could/should have included a few more perks such as bloopers, commercials associated with the 1974 season, ect.
No fluff... just straight up Happy Days.

Serious Days In This Season 3 1/2 Stars Out Of 5 Stars
Unlike the seasons that follow the first this one is the most serious dealing with such issues ranging from the beginning of the Cold War to high school drop outs. This season gets few laughs in what issues it tackle.
As a huge fan of the show I was a LITTLE disappointed by the shows on the DVD there are few good episodes that manage to stand out- "Fonzie Drops In", and "Someone Stole Potsie Bike." But, not enough to save us from a real dark season.
The show is better in seasons to come- so don't base judgements solely on the first...
With no special DVD features I was a little disappointed.... I really wanted to see what became of the cast that was in the show. All in all I'd watch the re-runs on TV Land and wait for better seasons to come. Because these days are rather dark....

Where is season 2
Why there were not any EXTRAS on a Classic like this is a shame, otherwise this is a great DVD set. The picture quality is awesome!!!! But for what may have been one of the BEST shows ever on T.V. no EXTRAS was a shame. Bring on season 2(but hopefully with some EXTRAS). 2005-11-26
