Jesus Christ Superstar (Special Edition)

I love this DVD. I have seen the live show with Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson and this just brings back those memories. Great movie that I would recommend.

I recently saw Ted Neeley in Jesus Christ Superstar and his voice is still incredible over 35 years after he made the movie. I have seen the movie before, but love the live performace so much that I have seen it multiple times over the years. This is the first time I got to see Ted play Jesus, however, and it motivated me to make this classic a part of my collection. The songs are powerful and thought provoking. The music makes the production. I am not fond of where and how they decided to do the movie (mixing modern elements and so forth) and it is no where near as powerful as a live performace, but still very much worth having in your library.

If you have seen this movie on the old remastered DVD and were amazed, you should love this DVD. The video quality is amazing and so stunningly restored. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the movie and is wondering if it is worth it.

I never saw the movie way back when, but I loved the music for years. The movie was great too. A blast from the past! Very worthwhile.

Other than the Sound/Mix bothering me since the day I bought the Soundtrack in 1973 this Movie is a masterpiece.
