The Lion King 2 - Simba's Pride (2-Disc Special Edition)

lion king 2 is the i think most romantic lion king ever!i love the music especially the song (love will find a way).lion king 2 is also a hilarious new story with you know who timon and pumbaa.once kiara gose out to play,she sneks of from timon and pumbaa and starts to run off to the outlands.once she is in the out lands ,she mets a firce lion cub named kovu.when kovu and kiara get older they fall in love.but simba dose not trust him when zeira attacks so simba makes kovu leave the pride lands .but than kiara gose out to find kovu and dose find him.then just in time kiara and kovu stop simba and zeira from fighting .so the out landers come back to the pride lands to join simbas pride with kovu, kiara,simba,nala,timon and pumbaa.i relly liked the lion king 2 and i hope you will to.

This is about Simba's cub Kiara. *suddenly see a full grown lioness in her place* Hey, I thought that she was a cub! She grew up in like 1 second!! That's how you'll feel when you turn on the lion king 2. It DOESEN'T SPEND ENOUGH TIME ON KIARA BEING A CUB!!!!! Her boyfriend Kovu is Scar's son. He like, is really cute and has a lot of character as a cub, but *watch Kovu grow into a lion with a mane* he suddenly loses over half of that lovableness, and his grown up voice is like, soooo forgetable!!! Simba is sooo different too. His mane is a purplish color, and he's like soo bossy and out of character!! It's not even funny either. He never leaves Kiara OR Kovu alone!!!

This is definately one of disney's best sequels. Why do I say that after ranting and raving about this movie? Watch Lady and the Tramp 2, Bambi 2, and Little Mermaid 2, and you'll understand....

I bought this due to the good reviews on Amazon here, and I was dissapointed. Lion king 2 has a weak plotline, a plotline that, like disney's other sequels, sends a "preachy" message, this one about racism.

It's about Simba's pride, the "pridelanders", fighting with Scar's old pride, the "outlanders". Only Simba's daughter, Kiara, and Scar's son (OOPS! Sorry disney! I mean Scar's ADOPTED son) Kovu can stop the war. Lion King 2 didn't spend enough time on Kiara and Kovu's childhood, which gave the movie a rather rushed feeling.

As the paragraph above referanced, characters in the Lion King 2 CONSTANTLY repeat the line "Kovu isn't Scar's son! Kovu isn't Scar's son! Kovu isn't Scar's son! exc..." when Kovu actually IS; you can see traces of disney trying to cover up the old plot, but it doesen't work. That four-word sentance will drive you up the wall after a while.

But, there is something good about Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. It's A REAL SEQUEL! It's not like Bambi "2" or The Fox and the Hound "2", thank goodness. Disney Midquels have made me appreciate things like this. So, I give Lion King 2 three stars.

It's a given that this movie isn't as good as the first, but it's defintely better than lots of the other Disney sequels. I personally thought Kiara was a great character. I don't think she was a rebel at all, because the movie didn't really imply that she wanted to run away from home forever. She just wanted to explore, which is understandable. And I liked how she noticed almost right away that the lions in the "outlands" weren't any different from the lions in the "pridelands". Kovu wasn't a bad character, either. At first it seems like he wants to follow Zera's plan of killing Simba, but pretty soon it's obvious he has changed his mind. Most of the characters in this movie are decent. Zera seems evil, but her reasons are legitamate: she resents Simba for "killing" Scar and banishing her tribe. Simba's the overprotective father and I could see why Kiara tried to run away so much. Anyway, the movie itself was decent and has an interesting plot.
