Newer films and older SW
Fantastic. I'm interested in releases of newer films to a very, very high quality format. Actually, I have stronger fondness for the SW original films but I've noticed older films are not done justice in a digital or High definition format - it just helps some fans with eagle-eye viewing [I'm not such a fan] notice it was A FILM and notice more of the flaws.

Different HD Formats
These are great movies, and probably the best picture possible from a regular DVD that I've seen, especially upconverted. I can't wait for them to be released on Blu-ray.
I just returned from the Philippines, and HD-DVD and Blu-ray are not available there. For that matter the 1080i TV, whether projection, LCD or Plasma [I didn't even know plasma was made in 1080i] is still being pushed there, and I only saw 2, 1080p TV's in the various appliance stores I visited, and I visited a lot, and the prices were astronomical. I had hoped to pick up a plasma & Blu-ray player, only to find that not only were they still 1st generation 1080i TV's, but were much more expensive than our 1080p units sold here. I was told that the Blu-ray would probably be available there in about 2 years, which is nuts since almost everything is made in the Far East. (I wonder if all the Toshiba HD-DVD units will be dumped there?)
If you think the blue ray laser used in the Blu-ray units is going to be
the final format, guess again. The green laser has 3X the resolution/info
carrying capability of the blue laser. So, its just a matter of time before that system is released meaning a new war will begin, and EVERYBODY will go to it from Blu-ray. [What's next on TV's, vector graphics vs raster-scan???]
One way or another, they will find a new way to empty our wallets.

HD-DV--What???
The final results are in:

BLU-RAY: GOOOOOOD!!!

HD-DVD: BYYYEEEE!!!

(This, of course, may be a bit of an oversimplification. Sorry HD-DVD...)
